Manager/Assistant Manager(s)


Minimum Requirements (Bakers and Managers have more requirements)

  • US Citizenship or proof of legal alien/resident and posses a valid Social Security Number
  • Be above the age of 16 for part-time/summer workers
  • Be above the age of 18 or a high school graduate for full-time workers
  • Pass health check-up per SCDHEC requirement
  • Posses no visible body piercing or tattoo
  • Have clean, manageable hair
  • Be able to speak, read and write English
  • Be able to make change, including counting back change
  • Be able to handle multiple simple tasks
  • Be able to do basic administration
  • Driver must have a valid drivers license; no history of driving issues and have their own insurance and no-fault insurance.
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Pass a drug test – no illegal drug use or abuse of prescribed drugs will be tolerated
  • Credit check
Pay Structure

  • Basic pay will be based upon qualifications and hours worked
    • Counter Service -- $5.85 to $10 per hour
    • Baker Assistance -- $5.85 to $11.50 per hour
    • Driver -- $5.85 to $9.25 per hour
    • Baker -- $5.85 to $17.00 per hour
    • Assistant Manager -- $5.85 to $14.00 per hour
    • Manager -- $5.85 to $20 per hour
  • Additional Pay and Benefits
    • Bonus program: will be established for managers and bakers who meet and exceed sales volume
    • Incentives will be granted to workers based upon performance and job skills
    • Vacation benefits and additional insurance may be offered for managers and bakers.
Training methods and requirements

  • All employees are required to complete an 8-hour pre-hiring training program based on ethics, moral courage, personal grooming and professional conduct. Once completed, the employee with be paid for this time.
  • All employees are required undergo drug testing before under going pre-hiring training. After completing the 8-hour pre-hiring training, each employee will undergo an introductory training period which introduces them to all the aspects of the shop
    • Basics of donut making
    • Basics of shop operation
    • Basic customer service
    • Basic sanitation and clean-up procedures
Counter Service

  • Experience: no requirement
  • Role: Counter Attendant and Food Preparer Skills: Take customers' orders; Prepare, heat and finish simple food items; Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs; Portion and wrap foods; Package take-out food; Stock refrigerators; Make coffee and espresso; Clean and sanitize kitchen and service areas including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment; Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas; Remove kitchen, service area and customer area garbage and trash; Handle and store cleaning products; Sweep and mop floors; Bussing Skills: Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs; Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas; Dishwashing Skills: Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand; Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Essential Skills: Reading text, Add/Subtract/Multiple/Divide, Counting Money/Make Change, Writing, Oral communication; Working with others, Continuous learning; Working with cash register and credit card/Point of sale equipment. Desire to enjoy your job a must!
  • You are directly responsible to the duty manager.
Assistant Baker

  • Experience: non-required, but work experience in the baking field is desired.
  • Role: Under supervision from baker/manager follow programs and procedures for production of baked goods while maintaining product quality and integrity in a large volume bakery. Type of Equipment: Conventional oven, automated mixer or processor, automated donut fryer and associated equipment. Food Specialties: Donuts, bagels, cookies and muffins, Specific Skills: Prepare doughs and batters, Bake mixed dough and batters, Prepare special orders, Frost and decorate donuts and baked goods, Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.

Drivers - 21 years or older

  • Experience: Licensed with a valid driver's license (CDL License may be required) with an accident free driving record. Prior experience with delivery of goods (fresh foods) a positive.   • Role: Pick-up and deliver various items and products with professional customer service, Prepare, package and restock goods Load and unload goods, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use maps and other trip planning aids, Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle, Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Physically able to perform the job. Extended standing and driving are required. Heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required on a routine basis. Punctual and reliable in your work attendance. Professional, courteous, reliable and mature, with outstanding organizational and communication skills. Possess solid general computer, math, and analysis skills.

Baker

  • Experience: 2+ years experience as a baker with minimum of an associates degree or trade school certification. Experience may waive educational requirement.
  • Role: Responsible for design, development and implementation of programs and procedures to maximize production, minimize waste, increase capacity and efficiencies, and maintain product quality and integrity in a large volume bakery. Type of Equipment: Conventional oven, Rotary oven, Automated mixer or processor Food Specialties: Donuts, bagels, cookies and muffins, Specific Skills: Prepare doughs and batters, Bake mixed dough and batters, Prepare special orders, Frost and decorate donuts and baked goods, Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards Additional Skills: Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies, Maintain records and inventory, Operational responsibilities include controlling costs in raw ingredients, packaging, direct labor, operating expenses, and capital expenditures. Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff, Train staff.
  • You are directly responsible to the manager and/or owner in the case of a baker/manager.
Manager/Assistant Manager(s)
  • Experience: Experience an asset; 2 or more years in similar bakery/food retail establishment. An associates, trade school certification, or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Role: Direct, supervise and coordinate the work of the staff in order to maintain high standards of quality, service and merchandising to maximize profits. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the training, leadership and development of team members, resolving customer complaints and supply shortages, maintaining specified inventory, preparing reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters, ordering supplies and overseeing store operation.
  • Essential Skills: Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing, Computer use (basic word processing, data entry, spread sheets)
  • Additional Skills: Prepare work schedules, enforcement of controls over cash, inventory and labor costs.
  • You are responsible to the owner and/or the senior management of the store.
